Tour Catalog
I’ve compiled most of the tours that I’ve led since 1982 into this catalog. It’s divided into the following categories, corresponding to the indented links on the left. If you are planning a tour for an affiliated group, browse this section for ideas or just get a sense of the scope of my work.
My Tour Categories
No Place Like Home includes tours that focus on or include Flushing, Queens, where I live and have the advantage of daily exploration!
At the Intersection refers to Long Island City, Queens where Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens all meet. While Flushing is home, LIC is my pet venue.
Planning and Redevelopment tours are in areas where urban renewal, zoning, city planning or other public or private action has radically transformed cityscapes.
Life Along a Subway Line is explained in a series of short walks and rides from a single subway line. Different lines have been explored.
Changing Cultures are a recurring phenomenon on the sidewalks of NYC. I lead a series of tours in contemporary Queens and can be persuaded to do so elsewhere.
Nieuw Nederland was the 17th century Dutch colony that included the fortifications, towns and villages that eventually became NYC. These tours have an historical focus.
Adventures use transportation other than the subway system. These tours bring participants to unusual destinations.
